The Solace Project is a participatory art project developed by an artist from Central Saint Martins in collaboration with Princess Alice Hospice and The Hospice of St Francis.
Through a series of guided craft workshops, the project brought together people living with terminal illness, alongside their families, friends, and bereaved communities, to collectively create a shared artwork. Each participant was considered a co-producer, with every contribution forming an essential part of the final piece.
At its heart, The Solace Project explores creativity as a space for connection, reflection, and expression during a profoundly challenging stage of life. The project aims to foster a sense of purpose, identity, agency, and belonging, while creating a lasting artwork to be exhibited within the hospices and beyond.
