El Espíritu Santo de Huangamarca is an installation that projects the image of a mountain landscape from northern Peru onto the walls of an attic space. The mountain is where my grandfather grew up, and through family stories it became part of my understanding of home, ancestry and belonging.
After moving to London, I carried this landscape with me. Projected into a new architectural setting, the mountain becomes a spectral presence that inhabits a space far from its place of origin. The image is intentionally fragmented by sculptural elements inspired by Inca windows, breaking the landscape into shifting planes of light and shadow.
The installation explores how migration transforms our relationship with place. Rather than reconstructing the mountain as a complete image, the work presents it as a fragile memory, carried across borders and continually reshaped by distance, architecture and light.
