Ehwaz is a rune in the Futhark alphabet symbolizing the horse, movement, progress, and transformation. Associated with trust and partnership between horse and rider, its form resembles the shape of an “M.”
This series of photographs documents a set of rituals and performative actions carried out within the landscape. In 2022, I visited Westbury White Horse and performed around the site. I knitted a long, thick plait and used it to draw an “M” into the landscape, reinforcing a sense of connection, trust, and exchange with the land itself.
